The Five Sandals Wedding Packages Explained

Two Lovebirds — $1,300 (elopements and vow renewals)

Best for: Just the two of you. Book one room for a minimum of three nights, then choose your resort, room category, ceremony date, time and location. On top of the standard inclusions you get a private candlelight dinner, the Scents of Love couples massage and 10 digital images. If you’ve been searching for Sandals elopement packages, this is the one.

Sweetheart — $1,000, or complimentary (up to 10 guests)

Best for: A close circle of friends and family. After the ceremony you get a private cocktail hour with chef-curated bites, your signature cocktail, sparkling wine and cake, plus a $200 photo credit toward packages of 50 images or more.

Here’s the one that replaces the old free wedding: the Sweetheart package is complimentary when the couple stays 7 nights or longer in a Club or Butler room category and marries Monday through Thursday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. That’s a $1,000 saving that most couples can plan around, and it’s the first thing I check when a couple asks me how to keep costs down.

Bliss — $2,500 to $3,850 (6–25 rooms, up to 50 guests)

Best for: The classic destination wedding with your close-knit crew. Bliss adds a private cocktail hour with a fully stocked premium bar, a two-hour plated wedding dinner with top-shelf spirits, bouquets and boutonnieres for the wedding party in your choice of select colors, and Red Lane Spa discounts for everyone. Tiered at $2,500 (6–10 rooms), $3,400 (11–20 rooms) and $3,850 (21–25 rooms).

Epic — $7,600 to $13,900 (26–70 rooms, up to 140 guests)

Best for: Couples who want to do the most and stress the least. Epic starts with a welcome cocktail hour and a two-hour pre-wedding dinner, adds sparkling wine and sweet treats for the couple on the big day, then a private reception with plated or buffet menus, a premium bar and two hours of DJ. Caribbean performers and fire dancers are available as upgrades. Tiered at $7,600 (26–35 rooms), $10,120 (36–49 rooms) and $13,900 (50–70 rooms).

Retie the Knot — $400 (vow renewals, up to 10 guests)

A vow-renewal ceremony, a one-hour cocktail reception and the honeymoon perks, offered Monday through Thursday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. (twilight is available for an extra fee). Pair it with a 7-night Club or Butler stay within 30 days of your anniversary and you also get a complimentary anniversary night.

Sandals Wedding Venues and Venue Fees

Beachfront weddings are available at every Sandals resort, and oceanfront and garden gazebos at most of them, all included in your package. The signature venues carry a flat fee:

• Overwater wedding chapels — $750. Sandals South Coast, Sandals Grande St. Lucian, Sandals Montego Bay, Sandals Ochi, Sandals Royal Bahamian and Sandals Saint Vincent.
• Frank Warren Chapel at Sandals Montego Bay — $200. The resort chapel, and the least expensive signature venue.
• Sky Terrace at Sandals Royal Barbados — $750. Also open to guests staying at Sandals Barbados.
• Old Quarry Golf Course at Sandals Royal Curaçao — $750, subject to availability.
• Offshore Island at Sandals Royal Bahamian — $5,000, subject to availability and semi-private.
• Riverside Pavilion at Sandals Saint Vincent — included.

Which Sandals Resorts Are Best for Weddings?

Not all 17 properties are equal when it comes to wedding venues. Having visited each one, here are my standouts:

Sandals South Coast (Jamaica) — The Overwater Chapel

The most photographed Sandals wedding venue: a chapel built over the Caribbean with a glass-floor aisle and 360-degree water views. South Coast also has the heart-shaped overwater villas for the honeymoon afterward. If dramatic photos matter to you, this is it, and the $750 chapel fee is the best money you’ll spend. (Note: South Coast is closed for renovation and reopens November 18, 2026 — book dates after that.)

Best for: Photography-focused couples, mid-size groups, overwater everything.

Sandals Negril (Jamaica) — Beachfront Romance

Seven Mile Beach gives you the longest stretch of sand of any Sandals resort and the best sunset timing. Since beachfront ceremonies are included in every package, Negril is where I send couples who want a classic barefoot wedding with no venue fee at all.

Best for: Classic beach weddings, sunset ceremonies, larger guest groups.

Sandals Royal Plantation (Jamaica) — Garden Elegance

A small, butler-only resort with lush gardens and an intimate feel. Perfect for the Sweetheart package: stay seven nights in a butler suite here, marry on a weekday morning, and your wedding package is free.

Best for: Smaller ceremonies, garden settings, a boutique feel.

Sandals Royal Bahamian (Nassau) — Big Groups and the Offshore Island

The only Sandals with a private offshore island venue (a $5,000 fee, semi-private) and one of the larger overwater chapels. Nassau’s direct flights from most of the U.S. make it the easiest destination for guests, which matters once you’re in Bliss or Epic territory.

Best for: 40+ guests, easy travel for family, a once-in-a-lifetime venue.

Sandals Grande St. Lucian and Sandals Halcyon Beach (Saint Lucia) — The Scenic Choice

Grande St. Lucian sits on its own peninsula with an overwater chapel and Pigeon Island views; Halcyon Beach is the quieter, more intimate sister property. Saint Lucia’s license fee is higher ($455) and it’s a longer flight, but the scenery is unmatched.

Best for: Couples who want the most dramatic backdrop in the Caribbean.

Sandals Royal Barbados — Modern and Upscale

The Sky Terrace ($750) is a rooftop ceremony spot overlooking the sea, and the resort’s bowling alley, rooftop pool and multiple restaurants keep a wedding group entertained all week.

Best for: Modern elegance, groups who want plenty to do.

How Much Does a Sandals Destination Wedding Cost?

Elopement (2 guests, Jamaica, beachfront, weekday)

• Two Lovebirds package: $1,300
• Jamaica marriage license and administration: $250
• Beachfront venue: $0
• Wedding total: $1,550 (plus your 3+ night stay)

Small wedding (10 guests, 5 rooms, Saint Lucia, overwater chapel, Saturday)

• Sweetheart package: $1,000 — or $0 if you stay 7 nights in Club/Butler and move the ceremony to a weekday morning
• Overwater chapel fee: $750
• Saint Lucia license: $455
• Friday/Saturday premium: $250
• Wedding total: $2,455 (or $1,205 with the free Sweetheart on a weekday)

Full celebration (40 guests, 15 rooms, Bahamas, overwater chapel, twilight)

• Wedding total: $5,350, about $134 per guest for a plated dinner, premium bar, cocktail hour, cake, flowers and planning

Key insight: the wedding package is rarely the big number. Rooms are. That’s where a specialist earns their keep — group room blocks, promotions and price protection on 15 rooms save far more than any package discount.

The Fees Most Couples Don’t Know About

• Marriage license and administration fees vary by island: $250 in Jamaica; $440 in Barbados; $455 in Saint Lucia; $485 in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines; $500 in Antigua; $535 in Grenada; $600 in The Bahamas; $750 in Curaçao for a legal ceremony, or $400 for a symbolic ceremony (Sandals Royal Curaçao only). Each island also has a residency period you have to observe before the ceremony.
• Friday and Saturday ceremonies add $250, paid in full at booking.
• Twilight (5 p.m.) ceremonies add $600, paid as a 50% deposit at booking.
• Late documents cost $150 if the resort receives your paperwork within 30 days of arrival.
• Deposit and payment schedule: a non-refundable $250 deposit books your date and time; 50% of the balance is due 120 days before arrival; the final payment is due 60 days before arrival.
• Test-Drive Your Wedding: stay at a Sandals or Beaches first and you can get up to a $1,350 credit toward your wedding when 5 or more rooms book under a group code or contract afterward.

Sandals Handles the Legal Requirements — Here’s How

Every package includes preparation of your marriage-license documents, and your on-site wedding team coordinates the local license. Sandals-coordinated marriages are legally recognized in the U.S., Canada, the U.K. and most other countries. Both partners must be 18 or older, divorced partners need their decrees, and each island has its own residency period, which is why I always push couples to send documents early (see the $150 late fee above).

If either of you has a complex marital history, it’s worth a quick check with an attorney in your home state. For standard cases the resort’s process is seamless — I’ve guided couples from dozens of countries through it.

Bringing Your Guests: Group Bookings at Sandals

Once you’re past a few rooms, your guests book under a group code so everyone is on one block with the same rate and the wedding tier is locked in. Five or more rooms under a group contract is also what unlocks the Test-Drive credit. Guests don’t have to match your dates exactly, and families with kids can stay at a nearby Beaches resort in Jamaica or Turks & Caicos and come over for the ceremony. Planning Timeline: When to Book Your Sandals Wedding

12+ Months Before

Ideal. Peak-season dates, the overwater chapels and Saturday slots are all open, and group room blocks get the best rates.

6–9 Months Before

Very workable. Most dates and venues are still available, though the signature venues at popular resorts start to fill.

3–6 Months Before

Possible but constrained. Expect limited venue and time-slot choice, and remember the 120-day and 60-day payment deadlines arrive fast.

Less Than 3 Months

Only for elopements and Sweetheart-size groups. I’ve done it, but you’ll be inside the late-document window, so start the license paperwork the day you book.

In 2026 the Sweetheart package ($1,000, up to 10 guests) is complimentary when the couple stays 7 nights or more in a Club or Butler category and marries Monday–Thursday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. You’ll still pay your island’s marriage-license fee and any signature venue fee.

What is the cheapest Sandals wedding?

A weekday Sweetheart wedding at a Jamaica resort during a 7-night Club or Butler stay: $0 package, $250 license, beachfront venue included — $250 total for the wedding itself. For a couple who can’t do 7 nights, Two Lovebirds is $1,300 plus the license.

How many guests can I invite?

The Epic package covers up to 140 resort guests across 50–70 rooms, and extra guests can be added per person. For anything above that, the resort quotes it as a custom event. Under 10 guests, any resort works; 20–50, look at Negril, Royal Bahamian, Grande St. Lucian and South Coast; 50+, Royal Bahamian and Negril have the most space.

Can I have a full reception dinner?

Bliss includes a two-hour plated dinner; Epic includes a plated or buffet reception plus a pre-wedding dinner. Two Lovebirds and Sweetheart include a cocktail hour, and you can add a private dinner for a fee or simply dine together at the resort’s restaurants, which are included in everyone’s stay.

Can guests with children come?

Sandals is adults-only, so families stay at Beaches Negril, Beaches Ochi or Beaches Turks & Caicos. Beaches uses the same wedding packages and prices, so if kids are part of your day, hold the wedding at Beaches instead.

What happens if it rains?

Every resort has a covered backup venue and your coordinator plans it from day one. Caribbean showers usually pass in 20–30 minutes and ceremonies are shifted rather than cancelled.

How far in advance should I book?

Nine to twelve months for a signature venue or a Saturday; six months is fine for a beach or gazebo ceremony; elopements can be arranged inside three months if your documents are ready.

Tips to Save on Your Sandals Wedding

1. Earn the free Sweetheart package. Seven nights in Club or Butler and a weekday-morning ceremony saves $1,000 — and Club/Butler rooms are the ones you’d want for a wedding week anyway.

2. Skip Friday and Saturday. A Thursday ceremony saves $250, and your guests are on vacation either way.

3. Choose Jamaica for the lowest license fee. $250 versus $600 in The Bahamas or $750 in Curaçao, and Jamaica has seven Sandals resorts to choose from, including Sandals Dunn’s River.

4. Shoulder season for rooms. April–May and September–November rates run well below peak, and that’s the biggest line on the invoice.

5. Send your documents early to avoid the $150 late fee, and book 5+ rooms under a group code to qualify for the Test-Drive credit if you’ve stayed before.

6. Stack discounts on the rooms. Military and first-responder discounts apply to the resort stay, and a Sandals wedding specialist watches for sales after you book.
